Bandar Seri Begawan - Recently crowned champion of DST Group Brunei Premier League One QAF FC were handed a home draw for the DST Group FA Cup 2'd round where they wi 11 face Wijaya FC on March 26 at Berakas Sports Complex.

Present to conduct the draw was Pg Hj Azahari Pg Hj Damit, DST Group Corporate Communication Unit Manager, at Aneka Rasa restaurant in Kiulap yesterday. Also present were Hj Md Yunus Hj Md Yusof, Registrar of Football Federation of Brunei Darussalam (FFBD), Liew Chuan Fue, a FFBD member and team managers of the participating teams.

"It is a 50-50 game. Wijaya FC are a very different and strong team in this competition based on their achievements for the past years," said Rahim Hj Daud, QAF FC team manager yesterday. Rahim's team who have yet to win the FA Cup trophy, suffered their first defeat in the last match of Premier One going down 3-1 to Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB).

"Though we are the Premier One champions for three consecutive years, we have never reached the FA Cup final. I can say only 20 per-cent is luck and the rest we need to fight all the way in this knockout competition," the manager said. He also said that FA Cup is a very-very different competition where the mighty can be knocked out by minnows. "Just look at the Barclay's Premier League, Liverpool, Arsenal and even. Manchester United surprisingly collapsed."

Meanwhile, Perkasa will battle it out against Kilanas FC on Saturday, March 27 at the Track and Field Sports Complex in Berakas. Two matches are scheduled on Sunday (March 28) with AM Gunners FC drawn against league opposition AH United FC at Berakas Sports Complex and in the second match at the Track and Field Sports Complex, Jerudong FC will be up against the winner P.Lun Bawang or non-league side Viva Rangers FC.

Premier Two champions LLRC FT or Brunei Youth Team will take on the Brunei Association of Banks (BAB) or Muara Vella FC on March 29. On Tuesday (March 30), Indera FC will take on Majra FC at the Berakas Sports Complex followed by NBT FC versus the winner KKS Penjara or DST Group FT at the Track and Field Sports Complex.

Brunei Shell FT will face Premier One second place Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) at Berakas Sports Complex on March 31. All matches kick-off at 8.15pm. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
